We moved the goat herd from the pasture to the barnyard this morning. This used to be an unpredictable and stress-filled event that I was not sure would take twenty-minutes or an hour. One time, I even sustained a mild injury in the process.
But thanks to my fifty-pound gold nugget, that just isn’t the case anymore. Thanks to Sugar, moving my goat herd is now a predictable, uneventful chore like any other on my ranch. Five minutes from pasture to barnyard. The formula is real simple; I tell the goats what to do, and Sugar makes sure they do it. If they get out too far in front, she slows them down. If they lag behind, she catches them up. If they stall, she jump starts them. And when the barnyard gate is in sight, she puts them all away and keeps them in there. But don’t just take my words for it, the photo sequence below says it all.
Now with the goats all put away quick and easy, we’ve got time to take a nice long hike in the woods. A just reward for a fine bit of work.
