Walker’s Ruff

The Walker family of Kentucky has kept Old-fashioned Black and Tan English Shepherds for four generations. These photos are of Walker’s Ruff with his little girl Claire. Claire’s great-grandma Emma Walker bred quality IESR dogs. I consider the dogs bred by Mrs. Emma Walker and her friend Janice Sallee to be English Shepherd royalty. My Rusty (Sallee’s Rustie Jr. IESR,UKC,ESCR) is from one of the last litters bred by Mrs. Emma Walker).

On this cold Kentucky day, Ruff decided that keeping his little girl warm was a top priority. Ruff is an IESR dog bred by Bob Williams of Tennessee out of his Whippoorwill’s Poplar Creek Bandit and Whippoorwill’s Carley Jo.

Young Claire’s grandma, grandpa and brother recently visited my Roanoke Creek Ranch to pick-up a female pup bred by John Sherling out of my Sallee’s Rustie Jr. and Sherling’s Jill. The Walkers intend to breed Ruff to the female pup they named Dixie.
