We have a very nice farm in Grenada, Ca off I5 near the OR border. Million dollar views. We are ranchers and have had no time to fix up the buildings, but what we do very well is sustainable organic farming, have been successful for over 30 years raising a great majority of our own food.

This is an old dairy/farmstead. We have concentrated on making it feed us and our family, and have successfully created a sustainable farm that can feed twoor more families easily with excess to sell. We will provide you with these sustainable attributes:
1. family milk cow, gentle and easy to hand milk, with last years calf and this years calf
This will provide all the milk, cream, cheese, yogurt and even manure for garden. She
can feed two families plus a couple of calves for meat
2. 10 goats for meat and milk, 9 does and one buck
Goats provide meat, sausage, goat milk soap and lotions, easy to feed, great cheese
3. 10 sheep, 9 ewes and one ram
Wool breed and meat breed for both meat and wool production. Wool is good for more than spinning, it makes great mattresses, felt, hats, and insulation.
4. 25 chickens including meat and egg birds with a rooster
Chickens will give excellent manure teas, feathers, gel, eggs, and meat. We will leave a mixture of birds
5. fruit trees, young
Peach, apple, plum, apricot, cherry, plus room for more
6. very large organic garden
Includes asparagus bed, strawberry vertical garden with 250 plants, and about 100’ by 60’ of growing space. Excellent organic soil. easily feed 8 people year round with preserving.
7. 15 acres of dry land alfalfa we can put in for you
The ground has been primed with a rye crop. You can keep rye or we will plant alfalfa for you
8. 6 acres of grain we will plant for you
Your choice of grain but this must be put in fall or spring
9. 27 acres of dryland pasture, planted.
This is calculated to be enough to feed all the livestock sold with year round if you hay the alfalfa plus enough grain to feed chickens and make bread. Yields not guaranteed.

It is our intention to move to the farm across the street and be there to help you get started. This is in a great area of like minded sustainable farmsteads. Weather and other factors can affect yeilds so we can make no guarantees; however we have lived here 18 years with success.
